There is no Cow Level in Diablo 4

But, that hasn't stopped fans from trying to find ways to conjure a non-existent level in Diablo 4 ever since it first came out.

Blizzard Entertainment only has itself to blame sometimes. After rumors of a "secret" level popped up on the internet (and became the talk of the playground) in the 90s, Blizzard finally added the "hidden" level in Diablo 2 where it was referred to as the "Moo Moo Farm." To add to this, Blizzard later included the "Not The Cow Level" in Diablo 3 in time for the game's third anniversary. So, when Diablo 4 came out earlier this month, to much critical acclaim and commercial success, the obvious question on everyone's minds was, "Does Diablo 4 have a Cow Level?"

Somehow, fans are still convinced that Blizzard Entertainment is hiding a cow level in Diablo 4.

The answer to that question is simple: there is no Cow Level in Diablo 4, and we aren't just quoting one of gaming's most iconic cheats.

Blizzard literally didn't add a Cow Level to Diablo 4 on purpose but don't tell that to the players who insist that it exists.

Despite the adamant denial of its existence by Diablo's general manager, Rod Fergusson, a fraction of the player base isn't convinced. A bunch of like-minded adventures has even joined forces in an unwavering attempt to uncover the elusive bovine realm in Diablo 4, creating an intriguing saga of conspiracy, fervor, and community collaboration.

Players remain convinced that Blizzard is merely employing diversion tactics. By denying the existence of the cow level, they suspect the company is attempting to make the potential discovery even more thrilling. As a result, an entire chunk of the Diablo 4 community is now ardently pursuing a level that, officially, doesn't exist.

The hunt for the secret cow level has taken several fascinating turns. Now, the tinfoil-hat-wearing dungeon crawlers are all pooling their findings and theories on Reddit, where conspiracy theories are plenty. The references to "Oxen Gods" in Ked Bardu, peculiar dialogue from NPCs, hidden quests, and mysterious portals have all been presented as evidence of the elusive level's existence.

Wouldn't it be something if Blizzard added the Cow King to Diablo 4 as a World Boss?

Notably, data-mined items, namely a "Bloody Wooden Shard" with a "W" carved on the side, and a "Musty Tome" are being pointed out as the as potential keys to unlock the cow level. The reason? The said items bear a striking resemblance to the same items required to access the Moo Moo Farm in Diablo 2—Wirt's wooden leg and a Tome of Town Portal.

As the community fervor escalates, discord servers dedicated to the cause have been established. The most notable of all of them is the "D4 – Not Finding a Cow Level" server, initiated by a player known as Carpeggios. The platform serves as a hub for fans to share their theories and findings, engaging the community in an enjoyable scavenger hunt.

Despite the mounting circumstantial evidence and community determination, the cow level remains mere speculation and a mere figment of everyone's imagination - for now.

Of course, switching The Butcher with The Cow King for a select few Diablo 4 players who have "unlocked" the "secret ritual" would also be a neat secret.

Nevertheless, the possibility of an existing cow level—concealed by clever misdirection and strategic silence—continues to fuel the community's search. In a landscape dominated by grim monsters and cataclysmic events, the hunt for a secret cow level provides a lighthearted diversion, a testament to the importance of whimsy even in the most dire of circumstances.

In the end, whether the cow level exists or not may be less relevant than the joy it has sparked in the community. Blizzard's consistent denial only adds to the intrigue, making the search for the cow level an enduring part of Diablo's rich legacy.

But, wouldn't it be something if there really is a cow level hidden in Diablo 4 and the only ones who could reach it are those who got to Level 100 in Hardcore Mode? It's a diabolical idea that might just be evil enough to fit in a game filled with the most dastardly villains in gaming.
