Insomniac Games' upcoming AAA title, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, stole the show at the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase where it showcased an angsty Peter Parker who's definitely spent too much time with the symbiote. A few weeks later, Insomniac confirmed when the game is coming out and since then, fans have been wondering, is Marvel's Spider-Man 2 going to get a demo?
Feel free to blame Square Enix and Final Fantasy 16 for this. Naoki Yoshida and the rest of the development team are killing it with the marketing for the upcoming mainline entry in the company's best-selling franchise.
After promising a demo for Final Fantasy 16 ahead of its release and actually delivering to the point that few fans if any at all are waiting for the review embargo to lift to pre-order the game, most gamers are wondering if Insomniac might take a page out of Square Enix's book. Unfortunately, the answer seems to be a definite no.
no plans for a demo!

When asked by a fan who slogged through the arduous pre-order process, receipt and all, if Insomniac would be willing to drop a demo, Insomniac was as quick as a trademark Spider-Man quip to say that there are no such plans for the open-world PS5 game.
While disappointing, this isn't anything new. Insomniac has never released demos for its games, including the previous two Spider-Man games (or, three if you count Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered as a separate title).
Unfortunately, this isn't the only heartbreaking part about Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
After confirming the different editions of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 in the days after dropping its latest gameplay trailer and release date, Insomniac revealed that the exclusive suits included in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, which is priced at $79.99, aren't accessible through normal gameplay.
This means that the only way to access the suits, which are meticulously crafted by guest artists from comic books, films, and PlayStation Studios, is to pony up $9.99 more for the Digital Deluxe Edition.
A demo-less launch likely won't affect the bottom line for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but it probably wouldn't hurt.
We guess we'll find out if Insomniac will change its mind as we wait for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 to swing into store shelves on October 20.
In the meantime, Spider-Man fans can check out Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in theaters.
I was really hoping for a demo, still on the fence about getting it.
