How long does it take to beat the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is finally out for players who pre-ordered the game.

Campaign Image mw how long

Even though the multiplayer portion remains locked until Friday, October 28, early access to the single-player campaign began last Thursday, October 20. This means that most players have had an entire weekend to play through the story mode.

As a follow-up to the original Modern Warfare remake from 2019, 2022's Modern Warfare 2 will pick up after the events of the best-selling title. It brings back the entire Task Force 141 squad, including Captain Price, Soap, Gaz, and of course, the fan-favorite Ghost.

Having said that, most fans are curious to see how long it would take to clear through the campaign mode if only to get the bonus rewards as fast as possible.

According to the early access players, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's single-player campaign is a decent enough outing to keep you entertained and hooked for a potential story DLC.

The good news is that MW2 is your standard Call of Duty affair, and we mean no slight by that statement. If you want to clear the campaign mode from the start until the very end, it will take you six to eight hours. This is on par with older Call of Duty campaigns, so veteran players won't find it too long or too short at all. However, if you want to finish Modern Warfare 2 faster, you can cruise through in six hours or even less. Naturally, higher difficulty settings will be more challenging and add at least two more hours to the usual completion time.

While Modern Warfare 2 has a short campaign, there's a silver lining. Task Force 141's story will continue through Special Ops and Warzone 2.0. It's also believed that the campaign will receive a story DLC next year.
