Diablo IV player makes history as first player to reach level 100

Many Diablo IV players are engaged in a race for immortality with the chance to have their names carved on a Lilith statue.

Diablo IV is one of the most anticipated games of the year. A potential Game of the Year contender, the title has received almost unanimously positive reviews from critics all over.

Diablo IV will be available for wide release on June 6.

On June 1, Blizzard Entertainment kicked off early access for gamers who pre-ordered the Deluxe or Ultimate editions of the title. Now, only a few days later, the action role-playing game has its first five level 100 players.

According to PCGamesN, Twitch streamer and YouTuber Rob2628 is the first person to achieve this milestone, at least on normal difficulty, with Draelin, rengar666, KlapopjeKOP, and Willemh joining him later on. The YouTuber played for over 54 hours while only getting about 8 hours of sleep in between.

To achieve this feat, Rob used a Barbarian build character and played with a group for the majority of his run to the Diablo IV Hall of Fame. Also, he heavily relied on shouts and whirlwind skill to defeat his enemies.

Most importantly, the Twitch streamer leveraged a group-based exploit where, when the lead player exits the group, a dungeon reset will be triggered. With this trick, player groups can boost experience and maintain an edge over other players.

Although it hasn’t made any comment on the situation, we fully expect Blizzard to address it in a future patch and provide a more level playing ground for its players.

Meanwhile, the race for the first player to reach level 100 in Hardcore mode is still on. Diablo IV Hardcore mode is exactly what it implies and is more difficult to beat than the normal difficulty mode. For one, it includes permadeath – an event where, if your character dies during the game, you will have to start all over.

Diablo IV is living up to expectations and has garnered virtually unanimously positive reviews from critics.

To encourage the players, Blizzard Entertainment will immortalize the first 1,000 to complete the game and reach level 100 in Hardcore mode. They will have their names carved on a Lilith statue situated at the company’s headquarters.

At the moment, YouTuber Wudijo is ahead of the pack and is the closest to achieving the milestone. Many Diablo fans will remember the streamer for his previous Diablo exploit when, during the game’s pre-launch Server Slam open beta event last month, he vanquished the Ashava world boss all by himself.

Wudijo is pursuing a similar approach for the highly-anticipated title. Unlike Rob, he is going the journey alone. At the time of this report, he is on Level 95 and is grinding through the game with over 20,000 Diablo fans watching.
Also, he is using the Rogue build for his adventures.

By the way, a Diablo IV game director, Joe Piepiora, revealed in April that Diablo IV will have additional story content every three months. The announcement sparked a debate on Reddit where many of the franchise’s fans expressed their fears that it could be a money-grabbing ploy by Blizzard.

Diablo IV will launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms on June 6.
