If you are a fan of the superhero television series, then you have definitely seen the third season and know that Soldier Boy survived his fall from one of the top floors of Vought Tower after Queen Maeve pushed him.
If you had any doubt about that fact, the actor behind the character, Jensen Ackles, has now provided confirmation. Ackles did this during an appearance on the Awards Radar podcast where he discussed his experience playing the villainous character.
Ackles was careful not to give anything away about the studio’s plans for the next season. However, he did tease that his character is returning. He stated, "There's some things out there. I'm not allowed to give anything out, but we'll just say that Soldier Boy is not dead. Thank God."
Ackles’s character Soldier Boy is a Captain America parody that was introduced to the show in the third season. They even have similar backstories as, like Captain America, Soldier Boy was created to fight for the United States of America during the Second World War. He also led his own superhero team that went on different missions around the world.
Unlike Captain America, Soldier Boy is an asshole. And as indulgent as Vought is in that world, even they got tired that they ordered his team to betray him and aid his capture by Russians who tortured and imprisoned him for decades.
Try as he may, Soldier Boy didn’t enact his vengeance on everybody he wished to in the series’ third season. If he returns, he'll have a settle to score with The Boys and Homelander, the latter of which he recently found out is his offspring.
Whether or not Soldier Boy comes back in Season 4, we're sure the next season will be replete with new drama, which will undoubtedly involve some of the new characters we know will feature. One of these characters will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, an ex-colleague of Ackles from their time on Supernatural.
This isn't the first time Ackles will tease his character’s return. Back in December, he posted a video on Instagram that fed the speculations of his return.
The Boys season four wrapped up filming on April 12. At the moment, we don't know when it will premiere. If that changes, you can be sure we will bring it to your attention. There might even be a fifth season if the series' showrunner Eric Kripke – and the fans, we are sure – has his way. But for now, let us keep our fingers crossed for the fourth season.
In the meantime, you can look forward to Gen V, the spinoff series that is set to debut at an unannounced date this year. You can also catch up on previous seasons of the superhero action series on Prime Video.
I think he will be back based on how the story went for this last season.
