Complete timeline of every film and series part of Phase 5 of the MCU

Marvel Studios concluded their panel at the San Diego Comic-Con by revealing their plans for Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It looks like Phase 4 of the MCU is about to come to an end. But, don't worry, Phase 5 and 6 are coming soon.

Marvel Studios is avoiding a repeat of Phase 2 and sticking to ending Phase 5 with a non-Avengers film.
Marvel Studios is avoiding a repeat of Phase 2 and sticking to ending Phase 5 with a non-Avengers film.

Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, as well as the rest of the real-life version of the Illuminati, was at this year's San Diego Comic-Con to reveal all the details about MCU. One thing that we learned is that Phases 4, 5, and 6 will compromise what Marvel Studios is referring to as the Multiverse Saga.

Also, Phase 4 is ending later this year with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Finally, Phase 5 will start with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and end with the Thunderbolts movie.

With several movies and shows scattered in between, it's difficult to keep track of all that's part of Phase 5 and when they're coming.

The good news is that we're here to help.

Here is every film and series that's going to be part of Phase 5 of the MCU:

Ant-Man and The Wasp Quantumania - February 17, 2023

Quantumania will give us our first look at the potential
Quantumania will give us our first look at the potential "final boss" of the Multiverse Saga.

Phase 5 of the MCU will begin with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. Evangeline Lily's Hope Van Dyne and Paul Rudd's Scott Lang will reprise their roles alongside a fresh face in Kathyrn Newton, who will play an older version of Lang's daughter, Cassie Lang. The trio will reportedly feature a cameo of Bill Murray and see MODOK appear as a secondary villain next to Kang the Conqueror.

Secret Invasion - Spring 2023

We wouldn't be surprised if someone comes up with a legit drinking game for Secret Invasion.
We wouldn't be surprised if someone comes up with a legit drinking game for Secret Invasion.

We're finally going to see the real Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) return to the MCU with the premiere of Secret Invasion sometime next spring. Cobie Smulders, who plays Maria Hill, let us in on a clue at SDCC. According to Smulders, Secret Invasion will be a "guessing game" as it will trick audiences into thinking that someone is a Skrull when they're human and vice versa. Secret Invasion will also feature the MCU debut of Emilia Clarke, among others.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - May 5, 2023

Fans will have a chance to watch Guardians of the Galaxy in action a few months before Vol. 3 in December with the holiday special.
Fans will have a chance to watch Guardians of the Galaxy in action a few months before Vol. 3 in December with the holiday special.

After a controversial exit and an even more controversial return, James Gunn is back in the MCU (at least, for now) for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This will be the last time that we'll see this current iteration of the titular team in action, so expect it to be a bittersweet film with the usual shenanigans from the ragtag team of universal heroes. Marvel Studios dropped a trailer for the film at SDCC, but it looks like the rest of us will have to wait for a while to watch it for ourselves.

Echo - Summer 2023

Complete Timeline Of Every Film And Series Part Of Phase 5 Of The Mcu
Fun fact: Alaqua Cox was born to deaf parents.

Alaqua Cox's scene-stealing deaf heroine, Echo, will helm her own spinoff after making her debut in last year's Hawkeye series. In addition to Cox's Maya Lopez, Echo will likely be the first time that we'll see Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk and Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock in action. Both aforementioned actors are also confirmed to star across each other in a new Daredevil series on Disney+ in 2024.

The Marvels - July 28, 2023

We're hoping that The Marvels finally helps change the audience perception of Brie Larson.
We're hoping that The Marvels finally helps change the audience's perception of Brie Larson.

Arriving four years after Brie Larson's Carol Danvers arrived in the MCU, The Marvels has gone from just a sequel to an ensemble film featuring Larson's Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).

Loki Season 2 - Summer 2023

We're surprised that Loki didn't get a solo movie instead of another season.
We're surprised that Loki didn't get a solo movie instead of another season.

Due to its success, Loki is the first MCU show to get a follow-up season and it's coming in a little over a year from now. It will be interesting to see how it will deal with its timeline-altering debut season, which was responsible for the introduction of Kang the Conqueror, among others. Aside from Tom Hiddleston's Loki, Owen Wilson's Mobius is also set to come back.

Blade - November 3, 2023

We're hoping that Blade will be an R-rated film.
We're hoping that Blade will be an R-rated film.

It appears that the MCU is keen on keeping its pattern of alternating the release of an MCU feature film with a series. This time around, Blade is coming right after Loki - and just in time for next year's Halloween.

We saw (or heard, rather) Mahershala Ali's lead half-vampire in a post-credits scene for last year's Eternals. This would imply that Kit Harrington's Dane Whitman will also return and mark the first on-screen appearance of an actor from the highly divisive Eternals film and the rest of the MCU.

Ironheart - Fall 2023

It looks like Riri Williams will be getting help from Wakanda's resident genius, Princess Shuri.
It looks like Riri Williams will be getting help from Wakanda's resident genius, Princess Shuri.

It looks like MCU's first attempt at finding a true successor to Ironman is coming late next year. Ironheart will follow Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams, a young engineering student from MIT who goes out and makes a powerful iron suit just like the one Tony Stark made. Fans who are feeling bummed by the long wait for Ironheart will be happy to know that Thorne will make her official MCU debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever later this year.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos - Winter 2023

We're pretty sure we're not the only ones wondering how the MCU will fit Agatha into the future of the franchise.
We're pretty sure we're not the only ones wondering how the MCU will fit Agatha into the future of the franchise.

This marks the end of the MCU's pattern of alternating movies and shows. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is a spin-off series born from last year's fan-favorite one-off show, WandaVision. As the name implies, the upcoming MCU show will start Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Karness following her show-stealing performance as the antagonistic witch.

Daredevil: Born Again - Spring 2024

Daredevil's entry into the MCU will bring a more
Daredevil's entry into the MCU will bring a more "street level" feel to the franchise.

After stealing the hearts of fans as Daredevil and Kingpin for Netflix, Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, respectively, are reprising their roles in this 18-episode show for Marvel Studios. For context, most of the MCU shows that have come out so far have had less than 10 episodes. With at least double (if not more) episodes than most MCU shows, Daredevil's entry to the MCU is going to be a big one.

Captain America: New World Order - May 3, 2024

Falcon and the Winter Soldier is easily one of the best-reviewed MCU shows.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier is easily one of the best-reviewed MCU shows.

We won't be getting another Avengers film for at least another year, but Anthony Mackie's return as Captain America is a monumental occasion. After fully accepting his role as the new Captain America following the events of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Mackie's Sam Wilson will helm one of the MCU's oldest and most popular franchises. Judging by the title, which was revealed alongside the release date, the fourth Captain America film will see the already turbulent status quo of the world go haywire.

Thunderbolts - July 26, 2024

We're pretty sure U.S. Agents is all but guaranteed to be a part of the titular Thunderbolts anti-hero team.
We're pretty sure U.S. Agents is all but guaranteed to be a part of the titular Thunderbolts anti-hero team.

Marvel Studios might as well have released Captain America 4 as a two-part series. It's very obvious that New World Order will lead directly to the events of Phase 5's final film, Thunderbolts. After rumors of the Thunderbolts movie emerged earlier this year, fans have spent countless hours theorizing who will join this antihero team of reformed supervillains.

What’s next for the MCU?

Once Phase 5 ends, Marvel Studios will race to the finish line of the Multiverse Saga. After three failed attempts, Marvel Studios is hoping its first try at bringing the superhero family into the big screen will succeed.

Fantastic Four will kick off Phase 6 of the MCU on November 8, 2024. Meanwhile, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars will premiere on May 2, 2025, and November 7, 2025, respectively. The two-part Avengers films will mark the end of the Multiverse Saga, similar to what 2018's Avengers: Endgame and 2019's Avengers: Infinity War did.

With only six months separating the start and end of Phase 6 of the MCU, Marvel Studios is bound to make changes as we get closer. If that doesn't happen, then it will be a tight fit to try and squeeze other shows and films in between. But, hey, after already giving us dozens of films over a decade, who are we to doubt Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, right?
