All hail Baba Yaga! The unstoppable assassin has just powered the John Wick franchise past the billion dollar mark.

John Wick: Chapter 4, the most recent entry to the action franchise, achieved remarkable success both critically and commercially. It amassed a staggering $426 million worldwide, surpassing all previous films in the franchise to claim the title of the highest-grossing installment. By comparison, Chapter 3 – Parabellum accumulated $327.7 million, Chapter 2 earned $174.3 million, and the first film in the series brought in $86 million.
With its current worldwide box office earnings reaching $1,011,319,297, the fourth film in the Keanu-led franchise has yet to make its debut in Japan, which is scheduled for later this year. Speaking about the franchise's extraordinary achievement, Joe Drake, Chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, expressed his delight, stating:
This milestone is a testament to the incredible work of Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves, alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, who have made it their mission to outdo themselves with each successive film in this franchise. We could not be more grateful to global moviegoers for bringing us to this incredible achievement.
Chad Stahelski, the director behind all four films in the franchise, has been in collaboration with Keanu Reeves since the late '90s. While both of them have declared Chapter 4 as the final installment in the series, fans can still expect more thrilling action in the upcoming Peacock series, The Continental: From the World of John Wick, as well as the 2024 spin-off film, Ballerina.
Furthermore, Stahelski and Keanu are poised to collaborate once again in The Pursuit, an action-packed thriller where Reeves plays a proficient thief assigned to retrieve a priceless artifact. However, the plot takes a twist when he discovers that the artifact bestows him with superhuman abilities.
As of now, John Wick: Chapter 4 sits in the sixth spot on the list of the highest-grossing films of 2023. However, considering the latest Fast X projections, which anticipate a $300 million opening weekend at the box office, Chapter 4 is expected to drop to seventh place in the upcoming week.
