Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse rating revealed

Expect a few more cuss words such as "damn" and "hell" in the upcoming Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

As the premiere of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse approaches, Miles Morales and the Spider Society are preparing to swing into action. Now, Sony Pictures Animation has unveiled the film's official rating.

Across the Spider-Verse PG rating

In contrast to its predecessor, Into the Spider-Verse, the newly classified rating for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is "PG for frenetic sequences of animated action violence, some language, and thematic elements." Notably, the distinction lies in the previous film's rating, which specified "mild" language, whereas the current rating encompasses "some" language.

Fans of the comic book series who are familiar with Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, the leader of the Spider-Society, already know that the abrasive webslinger is not beneath using cuss words. Described as "the one Spider-Man that doesn't have a sense of humor", the story will see O'Hara becoming embroiled in a conflict with Miles Morales when the two clash over their differing approaches to dealing with the film's antagonist, The Spot.

Boasting a runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes, Across the Spider-Verse is one of the longest animated films ever. Judging from the recent trailer, the Marvel animation holds the promise of delivering an equally captivating and entertaining experience as the first film.

A spin-off focused on Spider-Gwen titled Spider-Women is currently in the works.

With the confirmation of the film's completion, eager fans can now mark their calendars for June 2, when the film will hit theaters.
