Barbie is partying her way to Forza Horizon 5

The crossover comes just ahead of the release of the Margot Robbie-led live-action Barbie film on July 20.

From the winding roads of Mexico to the whimsical world of Barbie, Forza Horizon 5 is taking a fashionable leap in one of its upcoming updates, which allows players to ride the hot pink wave of Barbie mania that's sweeping the globe.

Now, you're about to smoke the competition in Forza Horizon 5 on Barbie's car.

As the iconic doll reemerges into popular culture with the upcoming release of a live-action movie featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the world of video games isn't about to be left behind.

Playground Games appears to be pulling out all the stops in this upcoming crossover, adding two brand-new vehicles that are inspired by the Barbie movie to their formidable lineup of over 500 cars. Yes, you heard right. Barbie and Ken are going to park their iconic rides, a baby-pink 1956 Chevrolet Corvette EV and a muscular 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup, right into the garage of one of the best racing sims ever released.

In a surprise update that left gamers' jaws dropping, these pastel dreams appeared on the Horizon Promo menu, yet their availability remains a tantalizing mystery. Players can catch a glimpse of their digital selves cruising in style during blueprint events created in the Event Lab, sparking wild speculation on when and how these rides will become a permanent part of their collection.

It's an unlikely but utterly delightful mash-up that makes perfect sense in hindsight. After all, Barbie is a product of Mattel, the toy manufacturing giant, which also brought us the Hot Wheels brand and last year's Hot Wheels expansion.

The Barbie-themed cars are a true testament to the game's unflinching dedication to capturing the essence of real-world models. The Corvette is a picture-perfect rendition of Barbie's ride, resplendent in a coat of eye-popping pink that is true to the film's version. The Hummer, on the other hand, brings a touch of machismo with its Ken-themed decals, providing a fitting contrast to Barbie's flamboyantly feminine Corvette.

We're actually surprising that Playground Games isn't collaborating with studios enough when it comes to introducing new themed versions to Forza Horizon 5.

The vibrant aesthetics and spirited adventures of Barbie and Ken fit like a glove in Forza Horizon 5, a racing sim renowned for its vivid colors and exhilarating open-world racing.

As the countdown begins for Barbie's theatrical release on July 21, it seems highly likely that these sweet rides will soon be gracing the open-world tracks of Forza, either as gifts or unlockable through promotional events.

With Forza Horizon 5 being free on PC Game Pass, subscribers to Microsoft's service can jump immerse themselves in the pre-release hype of Barbie's movie.

We're not going to lie, Ken's car in Forza Horizon 5 is looking pretty slick.

As Playground Games drops periodic updates to Forza Horizon 5, the bulk of the studio's resources is hard at work on the Fable remake, which wowed audiences at the Xbox Games Showcase. Worry not though, because Turn 10 Studios is tiding audiences over with Forza Motorsport, which comes out on October 10.
