The release date for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 DLC titled Phantom Liberty has been confirmed via GOG’s game library. It includes a new promotional trailer that highlights Idris Elba’s NPC and the return of Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand.

Since its release in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has been a mixed bag of promises and problems. Thanks to its advanced graphics and versatile gameplay, players were extremely hyped for CD Projekt Red’s hi-tech open world RPG. But the game had massive issues from day one, with game-breaking bugs, bland combat, and deceptively linear storyline. Lawsuits were even filed against the company, though it was eventually settled for $1.85 million.
However, patches and updates to the game have progressively improved the experience. Can Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty finally change the negative perception once and for all? Check out the details below.
GOG posted the update to Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on the site’s game library and shared it via the company’s official social media.

It should be noted that the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty release date confirmed so far is only for the Windows PC version. According to the official description of the Phantom Liberty DLC:
Phantom Liberty is a new spy-thriller adventure for Cyberpunk 2077. When the orbital shuttle of the President of the New United States of America is shot down over the deadliest district of Night City, there’s only one person who can save her — you. Become V, a cyberpunk for hire, and dive deep into a tangled web of espionage and political intrigue, unraveling a story that connects the highest echelons of power with the brutal world of black-market mercenaries.
This confirms the speculation that the DLC would center on a spy vs. spy plot. Speaking of that plot, there are similar story beats in Phantom Liberty to that of the classic dystopian film Escape from New York, particularly with the main mission thread of rescuing the President of the United States in the most dangerous urban area, with Night City’s new location Dogtown replacing New York. The trailer also mentions having a bomb planted in the player’s head, which is how Kurt Russell’s Snake Plissken was persuaded to take the mission.
Could there be more nods and Easter Eggs related to the John Carpenter-directed film in the DLC? A skin based on Snake Plissken would be sweet!
The accompanying trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty also showcased the return of Johnny Silverhand (played by the "breathtaking" Keanu Reeves). But while Johnny Silverhand will remain more of an intangible presence, the clips revealed from the DLC shows that Idris Elba’s NUSA agent Solomon Reed will be physically joining in on the action. It seems his character will have trust issues with Songbird, the person responsible for booby-trapping V (aka the player character) and promising the cure after the mission succeeds.
The Phantom Liberty GOG.com entry also confirms the pre-order price for the DLC at $29.99. Phantom Liberty pre-orders will also include an in-game bonus. Customers will get access to the Quadra Sport R-7 Vigilante vehicle when the DLC launches.
What seems to be lacking, however, are actual gameplay clips. The Phantom Liberty trailer mostly focuses on the story elements, with key cutscenes and dialogue. Perhaps a gameplay trailer will be making the rounds as we get closer to the DLC’s release date?
