The Division Resurgence is coming in Fall 2023

The upcoming third-person mobile shooter also got a cool CG trailer reveal during Ubisoft Forward.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is getting bigger with the introduction of two new titles, of which is an upcoming free-to-play mobile game, Resurgence. During the Ubisoft Forward livestream, the French publisher dropped a new CGI trailer for The Division Resurgence along with its release window. Ubisoft confirmed that an upcoming regional beta for the mobile title in select regions is coming as well.

The Division Resurgence is coming to iOS and Android later this year.

The pre-rendered CGI trailer shows a bunch of Division Agents taking on various factions from previous titles in the series in a fictionalized war-torn version of New York. The operatives can be seen deploying various tech skills such as drones, ballistic shields, and shock grenades as a means to combat rogue elements prowling the streets of downtown Manhattan.

The Division Resurgence is bring the same open-world PvPvE gameplay to mobile devices. Players who got to test out the game early say that it is pretty much like The Division but on your mobile phone instead of a PC or console. The graphics were reportedly good and parts of Manhattan felt similar to the first Division game.

However, being a mobile title, the control scheme would be something that players need to get used to. Playing it on a small screen may be a bit challenging for players as there are a lot of buttons and other things crammed into a tiny space. Thankfully, controller support will be available for Resurgence.

The Division Resurgence will be set in the middle of the Dollar Flu crisis with players returning to Manhattan, the site of the first outbreaks. The upcoming mobile title will have a new and independent storyline. The game will feature dynamic weather, day/night cycles, and new classes. And like previous Division titles, the game will have side missions and random events.

Playing on a small screen may be challenging for players.

The regional beta for Resurgence will be split into two phases. The first one starts on June 13 to July 25. The second wave begins on Augusts 8 and ends on September 19. Player progression will be reset at the end of each beta phase. The regional beta is available in Australia, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.

Players pre-registering to The Division Resurgence will earn the complete NYC firefighter cosmetic outfit and golden weapon skin. These bonus items can be claimed from the Ubisoft Connect account.

Ubisoft has not announced a firm release date for The Division Resurgence but said that the game is coming out this fall. We will hopefully get a specific date soon.

The Division Resurgence is coming to iOS and Android later this fall.

The Division's expansion towards other platforms and the exploration of spin-offs come as Massive Entertainment shifts its focus towards Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It's unclear if Massive is ever coming back to do a third mainline entry in the series. But, at the very least, more content is coming to The Division as part of its fifth-year celebration.
