Netflix drops a new trailer for The Witcher Season 3 at TUDUM

Henry Cavill shows off his sword fighting skills in the new teaser for what will be his final season as Geralt of Rivia.

The highly anticipated third season of The Witcher is almost upon us. Netflix showed off a new action-packed clip from the upcoming season at the live event in Brazil.

Cavill was at TUDUM to present the upcoming season of The Witcher.

Henry Cavill, returning for his last season as Geralt of Rivia, alongside Freya Allan (Ciri), Anya Chalotra (Yeneffer), and Joey Batey (Jaskier) were at the TUDUM event to present the latest season of The Witcher. The cast teased fans that the stakes are even higher in the upcoming season of the popular Netflix series.

In the new trailer, Ciri is attacked by Rience, a fire mage who tried to kidnap the princess in Season 2. He, along with his goons, face off against the trio of Geralt, Yeneffer, and Ciri. The clip shows Ciri’s improvement in both hand-to-hand combat due to her training with the Witchers.

The teaser also showed off Geralt’s proficiency in wielding both a sword and magic. He fends off several attackers with a combination of swordplay and spells. Jaskier and the Dwarves led by Yarpen Zigrin lend the trio a hand during the battle.

The fight sequence is one of the few times that Geralt engages in a sword fight against human opponents. The combat is wonderfully choreographed and captured masterfully by the film crew. It will be very interesting to watch how the fight unfolds when the new season comes.

Henry Cavill’s farewell to fans at TUDUM

While presenting the new season of The Witcher to fans at TUDUM, Cavill was teased by co-star Joey Batey about his final season. The actor asked Cavill what it was like to shoot his final season of The Witcher.

Cavill thanked his co-stars who were present and told them how much he cherished his time working with them. The actor also thanked fans for supporting him as Geralt of Rivia.

Cavill thanked his co-stars and the fans at the event as he exits the series.

"I actually want to talk about my co-stars here," Cavill said. "Because once again, it was such a pleasure and honor to be working with you guys. You guys bring so much nuance and detail to these characters which are often at risk of being oversimplified. And what you guys have done with the characters has involved work, care, and effort. And believe me, working with you guys was the biggest pleasure. So, I just want to say I'm going to miss you."

He adds, "Thank you to all of you here. And to everyone at home as well. You guys are all amazing."

Cavill announced he is stepping away from The Witcher live-action adaptation last year. While he did not reveal the reason for his departure, there are reports that it is because of creative differences with the writers of the show. Liam Hemsworth will be taking over as Geralt in Season 4 of The Witcher.

The Witcher Season 3 is coming to Netflix on June 29.
