Activision Blizzard is sitting on an unannounced AAA mobile game

No, it's not Warzone: Mobile nor Warcraft Arclight Rumble, both of which are also in development over at Activision Blizzard.

After the success of Call of Duty: Mobile and Diablo Immortal, Activision Blizzard has smelled blood and wants, not just to double down, but triple down on the mobile gaming market.

StarCraft has been left rotting away by Blizzard for years and is long overdue a new entry.

Apparently, outside of Warzone: Mobile and Warcraft Arclight Rumble, Activision Blizzard is working on a third free-to-play venture with cross-platform functionality.

The best part? This currently unannounced AAA mobile game is expected to be released sometime later this year.

This cryptic project comes to light amidst Activision Blizzard's high-stakes legal battle with the FTC over their proposed deal to buy Microsoft. It is a challenge casting long shadows over their plans, but a mere footnote in the story of the impending mobile game.

Among the court proceedings' revelations is the existence of this mystery game, listed with the company's already public titles: Warzone: Mobile and Warcraft Arclight Rumble.

This new mobile project is a sleeping giant, yet to reveal its face but sure to leave a footprint in the landscape of mobile gaming.

Who's to say what the silhouette in the mist will form? Could it be a new installment from existing franchises, or perhaps a brand new IP altogether? The guessing game continues, with every possibility stirring up waves of anticipation and excitement in the gaming community.

We wouldn't be surprised if this is another Diablo game considering how successful the franchise has been in recent years.

Knowing Activision Blizzard and its penchant for hiding Easter Eggs in its games, including "secret" post-credits scenes, it's likely that we'll only find out more about this project once it's out.

Although we're definitely hoping Activision Blizzard tries to revisit some of its iconic properties like StarCraft or maybe even Heroes of the Storm. Who knows? It might be the modern incarnation of the infamously canceled Starcraft: Ghost game starring Nova. Now, wouldn't that be something?

Only time will pull back the shroud of secrecy, revealing the next chapter in Activision Blizzard's mobile gaming saga. Until then, the intrigue only fuels the flames of anticipation, setting the stage for a game set to shake the very foundations of the mobile gaming world.
