Plunder returns to Warzone 2

After a relatively quick hiatus, the fan-favorite battle royale mode is coming back as part of Season 3 of Warzone 2.

Season 3 of Warzone 2 has been interesting so far as Activision Blizzard hopes for the new season to win back players that have been disenfranchised by the changes made to the popular battle royale game.

Plunder 2.0 is coming in Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Activision has announced prior to the launch of Season 3 that Plunder will be returning to Warzone 2. Many fans expected that the game mode would come during the mid-season update. Activision has surprised fans by revealing that the popular game mode will be available tomorrow.

"Get ready to take the money and run," Activision tweeted. "Complete contracts, grab bags of money, take advantage of brand new public events, and hunt down cash-leaders in a race to earn the largest stash."

Plunder is one of two additional game modes introduced in Warzone 1 alongside Resurgence. In this game mode, players gather in-game cash by completing contracts, killing other players, and looting crates. The first team to get to $1 million wins.

However, it isn’t as easy as the teams with the most loot are marked on the map for other teams to hunt down. Squads can deposit their hard-earned cash by using the Cash Deposit Balloons which can be bought from buy stations.

Players get unlimited respawns in Plunder making for the pretty intense rounds. It is also a good way to level up guns and unlock weapon camos.

Plunder 2.0 will feature double cash rewards for the Blood Money event. The mode also adds Cannon Fodder, Contractor, and Choke Hold events.

Plunder has a unique twist to the battle royale game mode.

Teams can equip credit cards that allow for 10% cash back on all purchases. There is also a new life insurance feature that saves 50% of the cash on hand when the player is eliminated by an enemy squad. Both can be acquired for a small cash fee from the buy station.

When Plunder 2.0 launches, there will be a set of challenges that players can complete for rewards. These challenges include winning matches, eliminating AI enemies or Operators, and playing a number of rounds. Rewards include a vehicle camo, calling cards, and more.

Activision also released a small update for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 ahead of the launch of Plunder 2.0. Infinity Ward is reportedly working on a fix for Warzone 2 server-related gameplay issues.

Players have been encountering bullet registration issues, delayed actions, and a significant drop in frame rates when Season 3 launched. Some of the issues have been fixed in the most recent patch.

Activision released a small update to fix issues ahead of the release of Plunder 2.0.

However, one issue has again cropped up in Season 3 is the Direct X crashes. Many players, most with AMD APUs, have not been able to play the game since the start of Season 3. Activision says that the problem is related to old GPU drivers being used. However, players have reportedly still encountered the issue even after installing the most recent graphics drivers.

Hopefully, more players return with the launch of Plunder 2.0. Many gamers are moving to XDefiant, with the game hitting one million players during its closed beta. The upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter from Ubisoft has been dubbed as the Call of Duty killer by fans on social media.
